Summary
The Line it is Drawn is a weekly comic book art feature on CBR that debuted back in 2010. Every week, we put out a prompt on Twitter and allow fans to make suggestions for that prompt (like "In honor of his new movie, suggest famous movie posters that you'd like to see Batman take over"). The suggestions are then given to our regular stable of artists (the group of artists change frequently, but a number of artists have remained with the feature for years) who pick which suggestion piques their interest and then they draw that suggestion. The drawings are then posted, along with the prompt for the next week and the process starts over again anew. Some of the regular "Liners" over the years included Nick Perks, Caanan Grall, Axel Medellin, Sean McFarland, Marco D'Alfonso, Bill Walko, John Trumbull, Thea Machado, Daniel Cox, Phillip Sevy, Brendan Tobin, Xum Yukinori, Gene Guilmette, Fernando Pinto, Monica Munster, Carina Gueveara, Paul Shinn, Rod Allen, George Zapata, Nick Butch, Dan Wolff, Matt Sandbrook, Adam Star Ruvola, David Winters, Afizeth Art, Seni Oyewole, Rachel Ordway, David Branstetter and many, many more. Some of the most popular Line it is Drawn weeks over the years have included: * Draw comic book characters in famous classic paintings. * Draw male superheroes in traditional female superhero poses. * Draw comic book characters in homages to famous music album covers (a theme so popular we tend to do it every year). * Draw what the kids of two famous superheroes would look like * Draw male superheroes in the sorts of costumes that female superheroes traditionally wear. * Drawing comic book characters in rock bands together. * Draw a four-year-old girl's ideas for things it would be cool to see Wonder Woman do. * Draw famous manga characters in the style of Western comic book art.
