Wonder Woman and Spider-Man are two of the most iconic characters of all time. Though without question the two could do a world of good by teaming up together, that's not the first thing that comes to mind with two legendary characters like these. The thing people always want to know is "who would win in a fight?"

Despite respectively hailing from the DC and Marvel universes, the two have faced off before. In the Superman and Spider-Man crossover from 1981, Doctor Doom tricks the two into fighting each other. They briefly fight before Spider-Man earns Wonder Woman's trust and they momentarily team up before Doom captures Wonder Woman. With their only fight a draw, here is a look at who would win in a fight between Wonder Woman and Spider-Man.

10 STRENGTH: Wonder Woman

Spider-Man has the proportionate strength of a spider and can lift ten tons. Impressive, but Wonder Woman has the strength of gods at her disposal.

She is among the strongest superheroes - male or female - in any universe. She's gone toe to toe with all the heavy hitters in DC, including Superman. Spider-Man took on Superman once, aided by red sun radiation. Once the radiation wore off, Spider-Man nearly broke his hand punching the Man of Steel.

9 INTELLIGENCE: Spider-Man

Peter Parker - High School Science Teacher

Wonder Woman is no slouch in the intelligence department, as she was granted great wisdom by Pallas Athena. Spider-Man, though, is a scientific prodigy, having invented his complex web-shooters when he was just fifteen years old.

Spider-Man's scientific prowess has only increased over the years, and his intelligence now ranks him in the upper tier of the Marvel universe.

8 SPEED: Wonder Woman

While Spider-Man is known for his agility and speed, Wonder Woman typically isn't. Wonder Woman, though, is far faster than people give her credit for.

She's been deflecting bullets with her bracelets for so long that people take for granted the speed involved with pulling off such a feat. Speed was another godly ability given to her, this time by Hermes. With her ability to fly, Wonder Woman can approach half the speed of light, which is way faster than any spider (or Spider-Man) can move.

Spider-Man's rogue gallery in the comics

A hero is only as good as their villains. While Wonder Woman has faced off with some powerful villains over the years, it's hard to name more than a few of her top bad guys. Spider-Man, meanwhile, has one of the best rogues galleries in all of comics.

In contrast, Spider-Man's villains are so iconic that the group they formed to defeat him, the Sinister Six, became iconic in its own right. There was even talk of a Sinister Six movie. That fell through, but then another Spider-Man villain, Venom, did get his own movie, which turned out to be a blockbuster. Having one of your villains star in their own movie is a feat Spider-Man was the first to boast and proves his villains are the cream of the crop.

6 TEAM SUPPORT: Wonder Woman

Spider-Man has served on some of Marvel's greatest teams over the years, including the Avengers and the Fantastic Four. But traditionally Spider-Man is a loner, having turned down the Avengers in the past and currently isn't serving on any teams in the comics.

On the other hand, Wonder Woman was a founding member of the Justice League, and has been on many different iterations of the team over the years. More recently she's also been a member of Justice League Dark. Wonder Woman has two teams worth of backup on the ready while Spider-Man has to dig through his contacts and hope his teams are still in there.

5 COMPANY IMPACT: Spider-Man

In-universe, Wonder Woman traditionally has an edge, as she is typically beloved by the DC community, while Spider-Man was perceived as a menace for many years thanks to J. Jonah Jameson and the Daily Bugle, though that perception has changed over the years.

But in the real world, when people think of the flagship character of Marvel they think of Spider-Man. Wonder Woman, meanwhile, is one of three characters that lay claim to the DC version of that distinction, along with Superman and Batman.

4 CULTURAL IMPACT: Tie

By far this is where these two characters are the most evenly matched. To get things started, they both had movies considered among the best superhero movies of the 2010s.

Each character has had a powerful impact on both comics and pop culture. Wonder Woman was the superhero TV show of one generation while the Sam Raimi Spider-Man trilogy helped set the stage for the superhero movies of today. It's a testament to both characters that they still continue to thrive and inspire to this day.

3 WEAPONS: Tie

While Wonder Woman uses more weapons than Spider-Man, often utilizing a sword and shield in battle, Spider-Man has been known to use a high tech suit of armor here or there. That's not the main reason they tie in weapons though.

The reason for the tie is because of their iconic weapons of choice, Wonder Woman's Lasso of Truth and Spider-Man's web-shooters. These items are essential to the characters and have bailed them out of trouble numerous times over the years. If they faced off using only these, they'd both incapacitate each other with them. Wonder Woman may be able to break out of Spider-Man's webbing, but Spider-Man would slip out of Wonder Woman's Lasso while she does so.

2 VEHICLES: Wonder Woman

Wonder Woman Invisible Jet

Being a New Yorker whose main mode of transportation is web-swinging, Spider-Man didn't even have a driver's license for a very long time. But believe it or not, Spider-Man does have his own seldom-used vehicle, the Spider-Mobile. Meanwhile, Wonder Woman has an invisible jet!

As cool as a Spider-Buggy that can climb walls and shoots webs is, Spider-Man doesn't use it enough for it to be memorable. Not only is the invisible jet super cool, but it's been there for Wonder Woman constantly over the years through different iterations of the character no less. It's right up there with the Lasso of Truth and the Bracelets of Submission among Wonder Woman's most iconic items.

1 WINNER: Wonder Woman

It was a close call, with two ties in the mix, but Wonder Woman is the winner in the battle of icons. In a strictly physical fight, Wonder Woman's strength and speed give her too much of an advantage over Spider-Man. Spider-Man, though, wouldn't go down without a fight.

His unique mix of speed and agility would keep Wonder Woman off balance, and his Spider-Sense would help him land a few shots of his own. Since the two are among the more positive characters in their universes, hopefully the fight ends with Spider-Man accepting defeat if Wonder Woman lets him ride on the invisible jet.
