WARNING: The following contains spoilers for the fifth and final season of She-Ra and the Princesses of Power, now streaming on Netflix.
The Princesses of Power have been forced to make some very hard choices over the course of She-Ra and the Princesses of Power. They've contended with entire waves of threats and dangers over four seasons. But with some of their allies turned against them in the fifth and final season, it comes down to a very unlikely princess to figure out how to beat them.
She-Ra and the Princesses of Power reveal that Netossa is the closest thing the Princesses have to Batman -- and that she has her own Tower of Babel.
NETOSSA'S PLANS
While Adora, Bow and Entrapta venture into space to confront Hordak-Prime directly and save Glimmer and Catra, the rest of the Princesses remain behind to deal with the invasion attempt by Hordak-Prime's forces. Despite their best efforts, Hordak-Prime's mind-controlling obedience chips are soon spread across Eternia, turning the populace against the Princesses. Soon, even the Princesses are targeted.
The first to be infected with Hordak's control is Spinnerella, the soft-spoken wife of Netossa. Netossa eventually discovers the truth and forces her to retreat. A mission soon after ends with Mermista and Scorpia also taken over by the obedience chips and the sorcerer Micah targeted as well, leaving just a handful of heroes left manning the defenses when Adora and the others return. While discussing how to bring down their friends without permanently hurting them, it's revealed that Netossa doesn't just have a few ideas -- she's been actively keeping track of her allies, their strengths and their weaknesses.
These plans range from the physical to the psychological. Mermista, Frosta and Perfuma are all vulnerable to fire, meaning they could easily be stopped with it. The newly befriended Catra, meanwhile, can be kept at bay with water. Adora lacks any real ability to act (and is also envious of her She-Ra form), meaning the right situation could put her off guard. The easily distracted Entrapta can be lured away with robotics. And Glimmer's mix of self-doubt and hubris means she's susceptible to being tricked into making a mistake. Bow's reliance on gear makes it possible to remove him from battle via sabotage. This even extends to Netossa's wife Spinnerella, who she reveals has a weak ankle that could be targeted to bring her down in a fight.
When Bow is horrified by these ideas, Netossa calmly explains that "contingency plans are how you win," and that she always wins -- which she proves by utilizing her plans against Spinnerella, leading to her capture by the heroes. It's a character trait that Netossa shares with Batman. Both characters are dedicated planners in their respective universes, despite being more underpowered than some of their allies. To account for this, they come up with plans to contend with any and all of their allies if they turned against them. This was actually the main driving force behind Justice League: The Tower of Babel, where Ra's Al Ghul stole Batman's plans for his allies, modified them with lethal intent and utilized them on the League.
While the Princesses of She-Ra come to terms with Netossa's plans and agree that they're useful in these situations, the Justice League responded with a much more furious rebuttal -- even voting on kicking Batman out of the Justice League over this betrayal of confidence. Somehow, the Princesses prove to be more mature and restrained than the Justice League.
