Dan Slott, who holds the record for penning the most issues of a solo She-Hulk comic book run, pushed against criticism that She-Hulk: Attorney at Law wasn't faithful to the source material.Taking to Twitter, the long-time writer noted his experience with the character of Jennifer Walters before decrying critics of the show who listed "comic inaccuracy" as their main reason for disliking it. "I'm the guy who has written more issues of She-Hulk than anyone," Slott wrote. "I've read every single comic from every [She-Hulk] run. And I'm saying, for the record, it is the MOST comic book-accurate show in the MCU."Related: Emil Blonsky Doesn't Need Abomination To Be a Dangerous MCU Villain

Slott's message comes after several instances of review-bombing were leveled at She-Hulk: Attorney at Law. During its nine-episode run on Disney+, the Marvel Cinematic Universe series was criticized for its writing, character work and adaptation of the Marvel comics. The show was heavily inspired by Slott's She-Hulk run while also pulling on plenty of elements from John Byrne's seminal Sensational She-Hulk series.

She-Hulk's Success

Despite audience complaints, She-Hulk proved to be a resounding success amongst reviewers. Many championed the show's unique premise and parodies of traditional Marvel Cinematic Universe concepts and tropes. Star Tatiana Maslany earned ample praise for her performance as Jennifer Walters. The actor revealed that the writers of Attorney at Law were aware that the show may be the target of trolls and opted to lean into mocking them head-on.

"As a cast, it was delightful sending each other these troll responses, like 'Oh my god, give them a week and then they’re going to literally see this pop up verbatim in the show and become the villains of the show.' It was thrilling," Maslany said. She elaborated that creator and head writer Jessica Gao was well aware that the series would receive some backlash. "Jessica Gao is a genius and knows about the culture we’re living in and her position in it when she’s writing these stories about a woman superhero."

Charlie Cox, who reprised his role of Daredevil in several She-Hulk: Attorney at Law episodes, echoed these sentiments and shared his own advice to She-Hulk's trolls. "You can't please all the people all the time. If She-Hulk’s not your thing, then don’t watch it. Watch something else," Cox said.

She-Hulk: Attorney at Law is now streaming on Disney+.
