Cover art for a Resident Evil 3 remake has surfaced online.Originally appearing on the data tracking website Gamestat, cover art for Resident Evil 3 -- rumored to be Capcom's next remake -- leaked online. The images have since been removed from the site, but continue to appear on social media. Following in line with the remake of Resident Evil 2, the sequel appears to feature noticeable redesigns for protagonist Jill Valentine, Carlos Oliveira and the stalking monster Nemesis.RELATED: Resident Evil Reboot in Active Development, Closer to Game

This is the first look at the new design for popular Resident Evil character Jill Valentine. While not much can be seen, her outfit looks different, compared to her classic counterpart. Looming large in the background is the rocket-launching monster Nemesis, with a narrower head and sagging, patchy face skin.

The cover art was released with an image for Biohazard RE:3 Z version, which could also hint to a special edition of the game, similar to Resident Evil 2's release.

After the overwhelming success of Capcom's Resident Evil 2 remake, a Resident Evil 3 remake seems inevitable. Capcom has neither confirmed nor denied the leak, so take these images with a grain of salt. However, the Game Awards 2019 airs on Dec. 12, so -- if there was to be an announcement of some kind -- we may see it there.
