This week, a lot of news hit about the upcoming slate of DC Extended Universe movies. However, one piece of information from those earlier reports may have since been debunked, as a new report suggests Harley Quinn will, in fact, appear in James Gunn's The Suicide Squad.

Original reports suggested Quinn would not be part of that movie and would move on to her own films, starting with Birds of Prey (And the Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn). However,  Forbes has since updated its original story and now claims Quinn will return for Gunn's film.

The Suicide Squad starts production later this year and will seemingly feature a cast of mostly new characters. That means that Jai Courtney's Captain Boomerang, Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje's Killer Croc, Joel Kinnaman's Rick Flag and Karen Fukuhara's Katana are not likely to return. There is no word on if Will Smith's Deadshot will return, though the actor was originally signed on for a sequel,

It was also reported that the Jared Leto Joker movies were indefinitely put on hold and that Joker and Harley Quinn are no longer a thing in the DCEU. With the new Joaquin Phoenix Joker movie coming this year, it seems there is no longer room for Leto. One might wonder how his absence will be explained in subsequent DCEU films, including Gunn's The Suicide Squad.
