The Seven Warlords of the Sea, also known as the Shichibukai, are seven mighty pirates in the One Piece world who have allied themselves with the World Government. Along with the Marines and the Four Emperors, they form the Three Great Powers of the world.

Due to their incredible strength, the Government relies on them in their time of need when the Great Pirate Era caused a huge influx of pirates in the Grand Line. The Government uses these pirates to fight other pirates, and in return, the Seven Warlords receive benefits that no regular pirate could ever attain.

10 The Seven Warlords Of The Sea Are Acknowledged As One Of The Three Great Powers

The Three Great Powers of the One Piece world consisted of the Yonko, The Marines, and the Shichibukai until recently. Being a part of this balance implies how strong the members of the Shichibukai truly are. It is believed that along with the Navy, only the Seven Warlords are strong enough to hold the Yonko back, which just goes to show how much being a part of the Seven Warlords adds to a person's reputation.

By joining hands with the World Government and offering their services, the Seven Warlords gain certain benefits. Possibly the biggest of them all is that they aren't chased across the oceans by the Navy anymore. The strong pirates, who would usually have the likes of the Navy Admirals and battleships chasing them, spend their days freely without having anyone on their tail. Undoubtedly, being one of the Seven Warlords is an incredible experience for anyone.

8 The Seven Warlords Have Their Bounties Frozen

All Members Of The Seven Warlords are former pirates, meaning they all have had bounties before acquiring this position. However, after gaining this position, their bounty is frozen and becomes more or less irrelevant. As long as the individual is a part of this organization, their bounty remains frozen and won't increase. This also means that no Government organization can go after them, giving them extra security just for being strong.

7 The Seven Warlords Are Given A Free Hand As Long As They Help

All the members of the Seven Warlords benefit greatly from being a part of this group. As long as they promise to help out when the Government needs them, they are given a free hand to do whatever it is they like.

Most of the crimes they commit are swept under the rug, and their illegal activities are rarely punished. Even something as grave as studying the Poneglyphs or targeting the Ancient Weapons goes unnoticed when one has a status as grand as the Seven Warlords.

6 The Seven Warlords Hardly Ever Help The World Government

Although they promise to help out the World Government when they want them to, they hardly ever do so. Every meeting that the Government calls is hardly ever attended by the members of the Seven Warlords. In fact, their call for help can also be ignored. Boa Hancock planned to skip the Paramount War because she didn't want to help the Government out. She only joined the battle for Luffy, while Mihawk wanted to see what the world's strongest man was like.

5 The Seven Warlords Could Abuse This Government System

Although the Seven Warlords of the Sea do help out the World Government occasionally, they end up abusing this exchange of power anyway. The likes of Crocodile used their position to take over an entire country and start a civil war from behind the scenes. Meanwhile, Doflamingo orchestrated a massacre and took over Dressrosa without anyone raising an eyebrow over how he did it.

4 The Seven Warlords Can Help The People They Know

The influence of the Seven Warlords is immense. Not only do they stay out of danger themselves, but they can also help save those who are close to them.

This was seen when Jinbe became one of the Shichibukai and immediately helped free Arlong from Impel Down, who was arrested after attacking a Marine unit. Similarly, other members of the Shichibukai hold similar power and can always help those in need without any trouble whatsoever.

3 The Seven Warlords Can Indulge In Illegal Activities

As expected of pirates, just allying with the World Government doesn't put an end to their heinous activities. In fact, most of the Seven Warlords continued their activities despite being a part of this organization. In addition, others, such as Trafalgar Law, specifically acquired this position so they could do things that were otherwise impossible for pirates. Doflamingo used the title to take down a nation and rule it, Crocodile was trying to study the Poneglyph and revive the Ancient Weapon Pluton, and Law entered the unauthorized Punk Hazard to further his goals.

2 The Seven Warlords Gain Special Access To Government Strongholds

At times, the World Government makes special arrangements for the members of the Seven Warlords just because of how strong they are. This was evident when Boa Hancock was allowed to enter Impel Down and visit Portgas D. Ace, the most important prisoner in the history of the prison. While Momonga made it clear that even the Seven Warlords weren't allowed to enter the prison normally, in times of their extreme need, they ended up granting access anyway.

1 The Seven Warlords Are Allowed To Run Kingdoms As Pirates

The Pirates of the One Piece world are always chased by the Marines, meaning they can't possibly rule a kingdom by themselves. Every royal family will cut ties with all the pirates to protect themselves and their people, unless they're part of the Seven Warlords. Donquixote Doflamingo ran Dressrosa for years despite being a pirate, while Boa Hancock ruled as the Empress of Amazon Lily while being the captain of the Kuja Pirates.
