10 Obito And Snape Had An Unrequited Love

Obito Uchiha was a member of the same team as Kakashi Hatake and Rin Nohara. Obito was in love with Rin, but Rin was more fond of Kakashi and died accidentally by his hands. Similarly, Snape was in love with his childhood friend, Lily Evans, who fell in love with and got married to James Potter.

Both Snape and Obito fell in love with women they couldn't be with and were bitter towards James and Kakashi respectively for choices they had no control over. They both had a similar unrequited love stemming from their childhoods.

9 Obito And Snape's Formative Years Were Lonely

Severus Snape was an introvert and was often ridiculed for everything, from his physical appearance to his shy nature and personality. He used to spend his days by himself until he found a friend in Lily Evans. However, this also changed once they got accepted into Hogwarts and Lily found other friends.

Obito was a kind boy, but he often felt lonely. After being saved by Madara, he was totally cut off from the outside world and only had Madara to interact with. Both Snape and Obito were tortured by their loneliness.

8 Obito And Snape Had Good Intentions

Obito followed Madara's teachings and philosophy, revering him as his teacher and mentor. While his final goal was peace, he was painted as a villain because of his methods, schemes, and alliance with Madara Uchiha, an infamous shinobi and co-founder of the Hidden Leaf Village.

Severus Snape had a massive breakdown after he discovered Lily's body. He became a bitter man who kept to himself more than ever. He had an ominous and unapproachable aura, seemingly warning everyone to keep their distance, but he fought hard to protect Harry and to defeat Voldemort.

7 Obito And Snape Were Extremely Powerful

Despite failing to be appointed as the Defense Against the Dark Arts professor, Snape was an exceptional wizard. A genius nicknamed the Half-Blood Prince, Snape was powerful enough to hold his own as a Headmaster at Hogwarts, however temporarily.

While Obito was no match for the prodigy who was Kakashi, he had his own strengths. After being trained by Madara, Obito became strong enough to take on, and almost defeat, the Third Hokage of the Hidden Leaf Village all by himself. He could also challenge most members of the Akatsuki.

6 Obito And Snape's Love Interests Died

Obito was in love with his teammate Rin, who happened to fancy Kakashi Hatake. After Obito was pinned under a rock and saved by Madara, he was cut off from his old world. He later found out that Rin died at the hands of Kakashi. Obito was beside himself and bawled his eyes out.

Similarly, Snape found that Voldemort had gotten to Lily's house and wreaked havoc, trying to save himself from a prophecy spelling out his doom. He reaches there and finds Lily dead. He holds on to her lifeless body and cries incessantly.

5 Obito And Snape Were Aligned With The Antagonists

Both Snape and Obito were on the antagonist's side at some point in the series. Snape was more of a double agent for Albus Dumbledore, the Headmaster of Hogwarts, pretending to work for Voldemort.

Obito teamed up with his mentor Madara Uchiha and the Akatsuki, wreaking havoc as he searched for the jinchuriki to further Madara's plans. While Snape pretended to do Voldemort's bidding, Obito executed Madara's and Black Zetsu's plans against the entire shinobi world.

4 Obito And Snape Worked Alone

Be it gathering intel or chasing down a lead, Obito and Snape acted alone most of the time. Obito was the only member of the Akatsuki who was without a partner. Posing as Madara, Obito used to fight people alone and lick his wounds all by himself.

From trying to un-bewitch Harry's broom to protecting Draco from the Dark Lord towards the end of the series, Snape did everything by himself without reaching out for help from anyone else.

3 Obito And Snape Had Black Hair

As a child, Severus Snape was often ridiculed for his greasy-looking straight, black hair. Snape, portrayed by the late Alan Rickman, had straight, black hair down to his ears. He was popular for flicking his hair to the side, but he never put it behind his ears.

Obito, on the other hand, had spiky black hair, which he kept short. His hair used to be tucked behind his shinobi headband and goggles while he lived in the Hidden Leaf Village. Later, while Obito covered his face with an orange mask, his hair remained the same.

2 Obito And Snape Hated Someone Unconditionally

Obito was always jealous of Kakashi Hatake, the child prodigy of their generation. After finding out that Rin favored Kakashi over himself, Obito started hating on Kakashi more than ever. Despite this, he did end up giving one of his eyes to Kakashi as a parting gift.

Severus Snape hated James Potter with a passion. His hatred transcended generations, and he didn't hesitate to show his animosity towards James' son, Harry Potter, who was the spitting image of James himself.

1 Obito And Snape Died Towards The End

Severus Snape was killed by Voldemort and Nagini towards the end of the series. Snape confesses to Harry about the past, asking him to view his memories in the Pensieve.

Obito Uchiha dies shielding his childhood friend, Kakashi, and Naruto from Kaguya's attacks. Obito realizes how utterly wrong and in the dark he had been when he was blindly following Madara. He was reminded of his true self by Naruto, and he died honorably.
