WARNING: The following may contain spoilers for Gotham Season 5 Episode 12, which airs later this year.

Fans have been waiting a long time to see Gotham's take on The Joker, and a new image reportedly from the set might just give them a look at Batman's archnemesis as he'll appear in the series finale.

The post, which came from user Aliens218 on Reddit, teases an absolutely ghoulish look for the Clown Prince of Crime and is reportedly from the show's final episode. It's not clear exactly what context this photo was taken in, or if it's been altered in any way, but it might hint at the disastrous results of the battle the two will have in the next episode, which is ominously titled "Ace Chemicals."

If real, this image would definitely constitute a dramatic change to the Joker's appearance. However, as of right now this remains unconfirmed, and even the poster seems uncertain if it's real. The image may also be a repost from another user, whose original post was deleted. It's also entirely possible that more changes will be made to the character in post-production. It's been revealed that actor Cameron Monaghan will play a third mysterious character in the series finale, an episode set in the future that is framed like a pilot for a Batman television show.
