While Marvel Studios has never officially announced a sequel to Doctor Strange, studio president Kevin Feige did confirm it would happen -- although he never specified as to when. Considering the titular character's fate in Avengers: Infinity War, it's no surprise there's been little news regarding Doctor Strange 2. Well, thanks to one of the film's stars, it appears that silence has been broken, as actor Benedict Wong revealed the movie could start filming by the end of this year.During an appearance at Fan Expo Vancouver, Wong briefly addressed his work on Avengers 4, confirming he had shot scenes for the film without going into specifics regarding his character's involvement. Wong then revealed he hopes to begin filming Doctor Strange 2 at the end of the year.RELATED: Doctor Strange Director Ignites Sequel Speculation

Wong's comments come after a recent report indicated Doctor Strange 2 would kick off a six-month shoot in the United Kingdom in spring 2019. The actor's comments are also the clearest indication yet that Doctor Strange 2 is deep in the production process. Benedict Cumberbatch, who plays the titular character, has played rather coy regarding a possible sequel. Director Scott Derrickson has teased his hopes for a second film, but he has never been officially confirmed for another film, though he's expected to return so long as his schedule allows it.

Of course, like with Spider-Man: Far From Home, it's doubtful Marvel Studios will officially announce anything ahead of production, as Feige has confirmed the studio isn't looking to reveal post-Avengers 4 plans until summer 2019. However, Wong's comments seem to confirm that Doctor Strange 2 will be the next MCU movie to roll cameras following Far From Home.
