The animated fantasy series Disenchantment, from Matt Groening of The Simpsons and Futurama fame, is returning in a big way. The series has been renewed for 20 additional episodes, which -- combined with its initial order -- will bring it through Season 4 by 2021.

"We’re excited to continue this epic journey with Netflix," Groening said. "Stay tuned for more cranked-up suspense, infuriating plot twists, and beloved characters getting knocked off."

The first season of Disenchantment arrived on Netflix this summer and followed the adventures of a hard-drinking princess named Bean, a disillusioned elf named Elfo and a smart-mouthed demon named Luci.

Disenchantment is geared toward a more adult audience, in a similar vein to Big Mouth and BoJack Horseman. Led by Abbi Jacobson as Bean, Eric Andre as Luci and Nat Faxon as Elfo, Disenchantment also serves as something of a Futurama reunion by bringing on board voice actors John DiMaggio, Billy West, Maurice LaMarche and Tress MacNeille in supporting roles. David Herman, Matt Berry, Jeny Batten, Rich Fulcher, Noel Fielding and Lucy Montgomery also make up the cast.

Disenchantment’s 10-episode first season is currently streaming on Netflix.
