In the weeks since Assassin's Creed Valhalla was revealed to the world, gamers have been treated to a wealth of information about the long-awaited Ubisoft game. Adding to it all is new artwork featuring one of the previously announced settlements within the game, revealed to fans by creative director Ashraf Ismail.

Ismail posted artwork depicting a quiet fishing village to social media. The creative director explained that the scene is set in England, where Assassin's Creed Valhalla protagonist Eivor will evidently find a home outside his native Scandinavia. "Spend a lazy Sunday fishing at the docks, consult with your war chief, or check on your people," Ismail teased.

The upcoming game is the twelfth instalment of the core game series and, according to information previously released, will see the return of gameplay mechanics from across the franchise. This includes social stealth, the more recently-implemented RPG elements and settlements, which Ismail has explained will be crucial in the game. Missions will begin and end in these settlements, which will benefit from resources players acquire through raids.

Set in the Viking Age during the 9th century A.D., Assassin's Creed Valhalla centers on Eivor, a Viking warrior who takes part in the expansion into England. Players will be able to customize several aspects of the character, including gender, clothes, hair and tattoos. While details about the character's story are unsurprisingly scarce, it has been revealed that Eivor will not immediately become a member of the Assassin Brotherhood.

Assassin's Creed Valhalla is slated for a holiday 2020 release.
